End of Year Wrap Up

And just like that, the year is almost over! Volleyball Otago would like to thank you all for being involved with volleyball this year. We have accomplished so much with our highlights being: 

  • U19 and U17 Girls and Boys representative teams placing the best Otago has ever done at IPC! Special mention to the U19 Boys team who came 2nd at this national event!
  • Expanded the weekly school volleyball competition to 3 nights!
  • Ran our first every holiday programme with over 50 participants!
  • Delivered volleyball sessions alongside the Special Olympics in their Adaptive Sport sessions to over 30 students!
  • Delivered VNZ's Level 2 coaching course to 14 passionate coaches!
  • Kiwi Volley delivery sessions to primary schools in Central Otago!
  • Have a Go day for grass volleyball in Dunedin on 15th December!
  • Upcoming Volley Fest in Wanaka on the 27th December!

We can't wait to provide more diverse opportunities and continue to grow volleyball throughout the entire Otago region in 2025.

30/01/25: Team registrations open

07/02/25: Senior team registrations close

10/02/25: Term 1 technical meeting at the Edgar Centre, 6pm

12/02/25: Junior and Middle team registrations close

13/02/25: Senior competition starts*

17/02/25: Junior competition starts

21/02/25: Middle competition starts 

*Please note the senior competition start date has been moved forward to allow for an extra round of games before the Otago Open Tournament. Schools can contact operations@volleyballotago.nz if they need to discuss a later start date for their senior teams.

24-28/03/25: NZSSVC (National) in Palmerston North 

25-27/03/25: SISS Satellite Champs in Christchurch
